Fantplastique Fashion Editorial
While it is the remit of faceCULTURE to focus on the culture of beauty and cosmetics, there are times when the two areas come together and offer new approaches to the discussion of make up, art and post-production. Seen in PUSHit magazine, the editorial is suitably inscribed as 'Fantplastique' and is a wonderful vision and indication that we need to keep a closer eye on this magazine in the future.

Kalbitor at Taylor James
The CGI work at Talyor James seamlessly represents the new way forward in terms of visual manifestations of interpreting physical symptoms, in this case the disease Hereditary Angiodema (HAE). Take a look at their behind the scenes work here.

We want CANDY!!!!!!
The interest in transgender fashion models such as Lea T and Valentijn de Hingh in the last 18 months has only served to remind faceCULTURE of the original fashionista Amanda Lepore. In this video Ms Lepore gives us her vision of 1950's B movie iconography.

Meet the Couples
The nine images in the series by Spanish photographer Reclarkgable are of the same couple whose style changes from trash to trend and from chic to grunge. Representing the chameleon nature of many style savvy people it does reference the classic quote by Mark Twain that 'Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society', and the notion that how we dress contributes to our identity.

Landscaping Chaetophobia
At first Andrew Markham’s work seems to suggest that future bodies may lack individuality, but upon a second look at this image of himself without eyebrows, it is possible to have incredible unique looks. The complete removal of body hair may seem extreme since it falls outside our culture's aesthetic standards, but it does leave open questions about what is considered aesthetic, desirable or embarrassing. Different standards are also applied to men and women. and those that flout them may experience real or perceived social acceptance problems.
